Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is the nation’s most successful public health nutrition program. We provide healthy food, nutrition education, and community support to income-eligible pregnant women, moms of infants, and children up to 5 years old.

Who Qualifies for WIC

Categorical Requirements

  • Pregnant women
  • Mothers of babies up to 6 months old
  • Mothers who are breastfeeding babies
  • Children up to 5 years old

Residential Requirements

  • Must live in Texas and preferably in the local service area of Chambers County

Income Requirements

  • Currently receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits or
  • Meet WIC income eligibility guidelines
