In Chambers County, economic development strategies and activities are designed to achieve positive results for all citizens and include:

  • Management of millions of dollars in state and federal grants that fund infrastructure and quality of life improvements
  • Promoting Chambers County’s abundant assets
  • Assisting nonprofit organizations and small businesses
  • Serving as a connection between public and private sectors and the community
  • Monitoring growth trends and providing recommendations to Commissioners Court and outside agencies
  • Advocating on behalf of Chambers County in a variety of arenas

Supporting Staff

  1. Robbie King has nearly two decades of experience in economic and community development, having served as the Executive Director of the Anahuac Area Chamber of Commerce for 15 years before coming to work at Chambers County in 2019. Robbie specializes in nonprofit and small business advising and is an expert in budget management, community engagement, and event planning.

    Robbie has been married to her husband Wesley for nearly 40 years. Together they share two children, a daughter-in-love, and two grandchildren.

  1. Eva Martinez is the most tenured member of the Department of Special Projects, having been on staff for 10 years. Eva is responsible for many of the behind-the-scenes activities which improve daily life in Chambers County. From designing and printing official County documents and Court forms to creating road and wayfinding signs, Eva does a little bit of everything. Eva also specializes in event planning and management and is a key player in Chambers County Day at the Capitol, the County Judge’s Hurricane Conference and more.  

    Eva is a proud wife and mother who is extremely active in her community. She volunteers with the Anahuac Area Chamber of Commerce, Texas Gatorfest and many school support organizations.



  1. La’Shebia Raymond is the newest member of the Department of Special Projects. La’Shebia is a 2001 graduate of Anahuac High School.  La’Shebia has been with county for 13 years and specializes in customer relations, spending time in both the County Library and Tax Assessor and Collector’s Offices. These experiences taught her the value of excellent community service and gave her a foundation in financial management and record keeping.

    La’Shebia has been married to her husband, Harry, for nearly 10 years. In her free time, La’Shebia is an ambassador for the Anahuac Area Chamber of Commerce, Chairperson for the Texas Gatorfest Pageant and local small business owner. She enjoys exercising her creativity, singing in her church choir and is a certified group fitness instructor.
